With my long standing relationship with Manuka pool owner. I was asked to create some logo to help rebrand the Pool. The idea was to keep the heritage of the pools history but do it in a way that was modern and contemporary. See below concepts created

Playing for Time using Qlab

Recently I was the Creative Director for a small College production called Playing for Time. This play is set in the Holocaust in the Auschwitz concentration camp. There was a group of women that got picked out because they could play music. Which turns out that it saves their lives in the end. My involment in the show was heavily concentrated on the technical and production side of things. For this show, I wanted to step outside the confit zone a bit on the technology I used to run the show. The show its self-was not very technical but required some creative thinking to pull of what I did. For any theater show, you need three main elements need to work together in the backgound to create a masterpiece. Let me walk you through what I wanted and did for the show. Lighting The lighting for the show was incredibly simple a general wash on stage, a few special spots to light difference actors as needed and a way to have diffrent colors in the secne. St Clare’s College 50th Photo

One of the Coolest Projects by far that I have had the chance to work on was the St Clare’s College 50th Photo. This was part of St Clare’s College 50th Celebrations. This project was months in planning and all over and done with in about an hour. So let me explain a little on how I went about the project. The first step of the project was to create a 50 and make sure that it was the right size in order to fit 1200 people in it. So the easiest way I knew how to do that was to use a little bit of maths. I measured my shoulders and found that my shoulders were about 500mm apart. I then used some grid paper. I then scanned the grid into the computer and used A pixelated font in order to get the shape of the 50. then from there I scaled the 50 until I believed that It was the right size. College Projection Mapping

At the St Clare’s College Open night in 2016 I was asked to showcase the wonderful opportunities that are available in the Arts program. The best way I thought to do this was to create a small projection mapped installation on the build of the Arts Faculty. I found to projections and pointed them at the walls I was another visual element that just made the night a bit more fun.

Logo design – week 3

based on these criteria above that was set by logotourmant I have created a logo that better brands me. My logo idea came from the stamp idea that you see on meat packs or the idea that the logo could be engraved into a surface. with this a my goal I tried to focus on what the core things in design that I do. So I decided to break them into categories which are. Print Photography Videos web These three elements are the broad range of what I do each but it helps focus on what areas of design that I love. The pen and pencil are the core tools in design but as a modern form the computer is a designers hub the number one tool that I use to create my work. The text that I wanted to include would be to simple brand me in works my name and the word designs helps bring together every element in the logo.

UC Exhibition Branding concept

As one of the major assessments for my degree in Graphic Design we where asked to create a exhibition and brand concept for the year for year student Exhibition. and here is what I came up with. The Pitch Revitalize This is the name that I have come up with for the UC exhibition for 2015. The idea for the name came from the location that I have chosen. Westside Acton Park is the location that I think will work best for this exhibition. Let me break it down. The reason that Westside was created was to showcase the new plans for Canberra Lakeside area. Westside was setup to create re-growth and change around the lakeside. It was meant to be different something that is new and mostly un-seen in Canberra. Each time I have been there it is a fresh look that has a renewed Melbourne like vibe. This brings me to the name ’Revitalize’ simply it is a fresh look new light, hope and change. A Cubic Nightmare

In conjunction with Infinite lights and sound. I made this projection Mapping installation as a experiment of 3D projection mapping. The story follows a little pink cube, that falls from his humble life into a reflections underworld and has to find his way home. Programs used Cinema 4D Resolume 4 Qlab This was a very fun and challenging project to undertake with lots of unknowns. I love that I just got to solve one problem at time to create the final outcome.

UC Style guide assessment

Cats The Musical making of timelapse

Below is a video that I shot for Cats the Musical. The clients Infinite Lights and Sound wanted a video that showed off the making and time that is spent in Setting up a production. With this in mind I created several timelapses using my slider with a motor that had a stepping feature to create a slide motion timelapse of the setup of the musical. Enjoy

CR&R Kitchens showroom update

Its great to see my logo design work been used for more than just a paper application. CR&R Kitchens have just got a Machined cut out of the logo to go in the showroom backed with LED lighting. needless to say this is looking really schmick, making the company look that bit more professional.

St Clare’s Day 2015 is St Clare’s College’s feast day. Each of the students get dressed up in costumes based on a theme. This years theme was ‘through the ages’. During the day I take photos for the event. This is one that just happened to stand out for me so I had a play around in photoshop for an hour just to see what I could come up with. Nothing formal just an experiment to see what photoshop can do. I would say with more time and a end goal in mind the possibilities are endless Watch closely for the animated gif to show you before and after.

Image Breakdown – Something out of nothing.

A great time to take photos is just after it has rained. I was walking around a farm and stumbled across these two spiders webs. I had recently bought myself a 100mm macro lens for my Canon 7D and was testing it out. The idea was to just capture the spider in the web, but the web its self turn out to be far more interesting. The hardest part in taking macro photos is the really shallow depth of field that you get when taking the photo. The only way that I have found to fix this problem is close down the Aperture to like f5- f11 this will create much more in focus. but means that you have to have much more like coming into the shot. For me I found that using the camera flash was just enough to get the perfect shot. I also put the bottom image into Lightroom and played around with the colors to make the background pop and focus in on the cool water drops that where sitting on the spiders web.
